Multiversus Review

Multiversus has strong fundamentals, charm, and attention to detail that Smash clones that came before sorely lacked, making it one of the best platform fighting games ever made.

  1. By the way this review sounded, it should have been at least a 9. I absolutely fell in love with the game. And here is the thing, if you get one of the founders packs, even if it is just the 60 dollar one (the price of a normal game), you can unlock pretty much all of the current characters with character tokens and save your ingame gold on new characters coming out later.

  2. I also don’t agree with the criticism about unlocking characters. If the game is good then it’s worth paying for. You wouldn’t expect to get any high quality game 100% for free. The developer needs to cover their costs and make a profit under this (admittedly not great) economic system. It seems as if it’s worth the price of a full price game so that’s how it should be covered. Ideally, they would have just made the game a full price game to begin with, but unfortunately that’s not the route they chose to go. And in terms of spending hours of game time unlocking characters, is that not how Smash Bros. works?

  3. I've just played it for free and haven't spent a dollar, and it's super fun. Crisp, nice graphics, and the gameplay feels balanced where even less skilled people (me) have a chance. I'll definitely putz around on it from time to time.

  4. Lol how you gonna call this one of the best platform fighters ever made, spend 9 mins pretty much calling it perfect and then slap an 8 lol.

  5. One thing I hope they can add is more varied music. The music for the stages are fine but I’d like to have more “battle music” to hype up fights

  6. Smash Wish.

When me and my friends can't play together IRL, we'll play that thing. Maybe.

But if we have a choice, Smash. Always Smash.

Don't get me wrong, this game is fun. It's easy to get your hands onto, to start kicking some butts and to do some cool stuff.
But it surely is no Smash. It's not as polished, not as diverse, not as precise, clearly not as generous.
But it's a fun little stuff to play with friends. If you don't own Smash.

  7. I liked the game but they made a 3 euro battlepass in a beta, it is ridiculous to have a paid battlepass in a beta. Modern gaming is a total ripoff to your wallet

  9. I didn't like the game, it was kinda slow for me, Smash has a better frame rate and better controlability for the characters.

  10. 40 hours to unlock every character for free isnt that bad tbh. And im sure he didn't factor in level ups for profile and characters those really lower the time. For a f2p its honestly really forgiving

  11. This game is way better than smash from a competitive scene standpoint. Nintendo loves to hold back smash from being a true competitive game rather than just being some party game you play with friends every now and again.

  12. 40 hours doesn't sound too bad, better not play Gran Turismo 7, it might take many many more hours to get a car you want after paying freaking 70 dollars for the Goodman game !

  13. I don't want to poo-poo this, but it looks like a complete reskin of Smash, at least in the fighting mechanics. It's just…too close for me to even try out, since I'm Smashed out.

  14. Man, I would have loved this 20 years ago, Smash although has been one of my favorite games of all time, it no longer has that much appeal anymore 😕It does look much better than that half-baked Nickelodeon one though, so I might give it a try more thinking it has a lot of fun potential characters.
