History of Pokémon Games (Mainline Series)
From humble beginnings on the GameBoy with Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green, to 3D entries like Pokemon Sword and Shield, we’ve been addicted to catching, battling, breeding, and caring for Pokémon for more than 25 years. With the launch of…

Excellent! Thoroughly enjoyable and well researched! ?
Sadly I stopped playing Pokémon games when they started going into dlc’s. I would have never thought Pokémon would go so low.
16:12 Gamefreak making petty excuses when it’s the same models they’ve been reusing for 9 years and the battle balance is a lie. SwSh is still missing 200 more Pokémon.
I can’t see what Pokémon Legends have
12:07 There actually hadn't been a new type added in 13 years.
Or pocket monster
My first Pokémon game was Pokémon yellow version think I still have it my uncle chuck got it for me I believe 1999 Christmas. The show I started watching that same year or was 97 don’t remember so long ago. Between loving the show I was fixed on Pokémon. I told my mom back I wanted the Pokémon games, my uncle chuck most have over heard once an got Pokémon yellow version for me for the ether 1999 or 1998 Christmas. Like I said very long time ago. Right playing Pokémon shield an nearly have all known Pokémon in that game an almost beat it completely.
Pokémon Let's Go and Legends Arceus are mainline
I've always been a Pokemon fan since I first played Red back in 4th grade. But, the last game I played all the way through was Platinum. After that point, I found it all the new mechanics and side stuff a bit too complex and overwhelming. I'm glad the series has survived though and that people still enjoy it.
Booyy that high top
Check out our four part series on the history of Pokémon too called “the story of Pokémon”!
That gen 1 gym leader and elite four themes are just … chef kiss
Thanks for this great history! After I got Blue version as a kid travelling through Mexico with my mum, I played it obsessively. After that I haven't finished any others but played most of them so the version breakdown was fun to learn about. Arceus sounds like it might be different enough to hold my interest but I doubt it. Still, the series is one of my first loves!
Seems like the game finally is starting to age with us gen1-ers
Funny how they had the idea of Pokémon go so early in the Pokémon lifecycle. Just the right technology was missing.
Pokemon x & y had the best and most functional online system. Wondertrade was fun but it was really easy to trade and battle. Unfortunately they didn't keep it ? and restyled it in Pokemon sword.
Me, who has been go following Pokémon since before I was born: Hmmm, interesting

We came a long way and it has been fun
I feel like I just saw my whole life flash before my eyes watching this

Nothing beats the surprise of gen 2 when beating the regular elite 4 to find out that you could go to Kanto. For this reason alone and Lugia Gen 2 will forever reign supreme
No mention of the Battle Frontier? For shame.
This info and the “Satoshi Tajiri collected bugs as a kid” fact is rehashed every opportunity there is to talk about Pokémon ?♂️
Anyone has a link to that Jubilife City remix around 0:57?

Gen 5 remakes coming next ? looking forward to that and gen 6 remakes. Gen 6 was hands down the best in my opinion.
Being a 90's kid I had yellow, gold and crystal. I remember we set up a Pokemon league at school during lunch in the library where we would have a Pokemon league style tournament. Good memories.
“Pokémon didn’t want to make a violent video game so the Pokémon simply just fainted”
