There’s several games I think deserve to have gotten a 10/10 over the years, but the fact that they give out so many more I think shows they’re lessening the standards a bit.
The fact that Deathloop got a 10/10 is a laugh. I like the game well enough, I keep starting it playing for a few hours then getting bored so I move on to something really good and go back to it later. Heck I’m playing Control and it’s a better game by far but it didn’t even score a 10

I'm actually surprised at how many of these I've played.
The fact that RE4 and Last of Us isn't on this list and Deathloop is speaks volumes.
What people seem to forget is that a 10/10 game doesn't need to be an open ended, 40+ hour experience that hooks you like an addiction. It's a game that is original and innovative. Deathloop is every bit deserving of it's awards. It's easily one of the most original experiences in recent years and the whole premise and structure of it, is why it's a 10/10 game.
Hold on…it means no Xbox exclusive ever got a 10 from Gamespot. Come one Microsoft time to up your game.

Divinity 2 to Deathloop were 9/10 at most. Putting them at the same score from the previous 10/10s, kinda undervalue old games.

and this is why scores are meaningless and real reviewers shouldnt use them. Not a single game is a 10. 10 is perfection, meaning no mistakes and every game there is filled with bugs or gameplay that is far from perfect.
