  1. Sure it isn’t supposed to… but tons of Ubisoft games weren’t supposed to be a bland open world with nothing to do, god awful writing and forgettable stories.

I have no hope for this game. Ubisoft just somehow always manages to exceed my extremely low expectations and ruin every game I use to enjoy.

So I’m not sticking around to see Ubisoft do what they’re good at… taking a beloved game series and dragging it through the mud until it’s dead again and again.

  2. If they make Splinter Cell unapologetically a stealth game, it should be fine. That means powerful when undetected, weak when detected. None of the artificial "play your way" or the illusion that you can "play your way". You play stealth or you get destroyed. Yin and yang. It's called balance. Sam isn't a superhuman killing machine. He's one man that can die easily which is what gave off the Tom Clancy feel of the originals. If they make it like the actual Splinter Cell games it should be fine.

  4. well those keyword are nice:
    – not open world, but large enough to explore and possible have several route to complete the mission. something akin to hitman i guess
    – linear stealth

but this is ubi we're talking so… eh…

  5. A splinter cell remake sounds great and keeping the mechanics gameplay of blacklist would be amazing I feel conviction and Blacklist gameplay are way better then the first games mark shooting and quick take downs and torture Interrogatios are great features I like the action based style and you can go stealth too and as long as Michael Ironside is doing the voice for Sam fisher and it's open level stages and not open world I'll be happy.

  6. Dear Ubisoft… 1. Please eliminate the abuse of staff in your company 2. After that if you have time fix the bug with the launcher that stops Splinter Cell Blacklist online working so we don't have to keep installing an older version to play online! Thanks!

  7. Honestly, I couldn't go across an open world doing Sam's stealth walk, and I'd rather not get a Splinter Cell game that has a similar spin on the franchise like MGSV did with MGS. A traditional Splinter Cell is long overdue at this point.

  8. A remake of the first game. Instead of something new. Of course why would you actually put any thought or effort into a new Splintercell game. And watch it be ruined if Ironside doesn't voice SF

  9. I like that they are remaking Splinter Cell, but I am not liking that they are not using Unreal Engine. They are using their own engine, and their engines have been hit or miss. I hope it's good.

  10. I feel like a sandbox like the newer hitman games can work great. You can either carve your own path and be creative with your surroundings/do something not marked. Or you could have a pre-set goal with different “quests” to guide you through it. If they did that type of open world/sandbox where you still select levels but not set on a linear path, I would buy it IMMEDIATELY as I feel that it could be done so well in this franchise. Still wouldn’t beat Chaos theory tho
