with the slide not locking open after the gun was empty, i would have to guess that there wasn’t a magazine inserted.
When he was reviewing the pistol, there was no mag and only one bullet in the chamber, that’s why the slide sign lock open
His glove was on the slide lock, releasing it immediately upon lock.
The MP 155 Ultima has a low rez screen that can display a compass or round counter but also can display the image of a gun mounted camera. Since it's mostly intended for hunters I think it's to help them figure out where they hit an animal. You could therefore also route a thermal cam through it which is the gimmick of the gun in this game. I honestly would prefer the compass and round counter.
The Ultima Thermal is a real thing for the MP-155. It is called "MP-155 ULTIMA smart"
He could have just forgot to put a magazine in the gun and the slide would not lock open

protip, using multiple lasers can sometimes help with hipfire in game since it makes the dot more visible, i do this all the time with Saigas
